Jada Pinkett Smith talks struggle with alopecia: 'I can only laugh'
Jada Pinkett Smith took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a new video about her struggles with alopecia.
The 50-year-old multihyphenate discussed her hair loss, pointing to a particular linear patch on her scalp.
'Now at this point I can only laugh,' Jada said as she opened the video.

The Red Table Talk host looked beautiful with a no makeup on her face, but a light filter that highlighted her natural glow.
The mom-of-two wore a grey crewneck sweatshirt and a pair of stud earrings.
Smith showed off a Christmas-themed red manicure with white design embellishments as she drew attention to the strip of her scalp that was void of hair.
Despite her already super low buzz cut, a line of hairless flesh was visible in the 40-second snippet.
WHAT IS APOLECIA?
Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disorder that causes your hair to come out, often in clumps the size and shape of a quarter. The amount of hair loss is different in everyone. Some people lose it only in a few spots. Others lose a lot. Sometimes, hair grows back but falls out again later. In others, hair grows back for good.
There are different types of this condition. Alopecia areata is most common in its main form, but there are other, more rare types:
Alopecia areata totalis means you’ve lost all the hair on your head.
Alopecia areata universalis is the loss of hair over your entire body.
Diffuse alopecia areata is a sudden thinning of your hair rather than lost patches.
Ophiasis alopecia areata causes hair loss in a band shape around the sides and back of your head.'
And just all of a sudden one day,' she explained as she angled her head toward the camera.
She then added, 'Look at this line right here. Look at that.'
Jada had a positive outlook as she noted the bald line would 'be a little more difficult' for her to hide, but that she would make it work.
'Mama's gonna put some rhinestones in there and I'm just gon' make me a little crown,' she said.
The Matrix Resurrections star gently stroked her dome throughout the video as she looked into the camera and spoke to her fans.
The Hollywood vet announced she had alopecia back in 2018.
And she has spoken extensively on her affinity for rocking a shaved head.
Earlier this year on an episode of of her Facebook Watch show she talked about shaving her hair off.
She said, 'For me, it was a mixture of a spiritual calling and also going, "at some point, your hairline is going to be back here...so we might as well just do it now."'
Her daughter Willow Smith, 21, has also been known to sport the bald look.
And her mother and co-host Adrienne Banfield-Norris, 68, rocks her tresses in a short crop as well.
