People Think I Had Filler, But It's Face Tape' says Bella Hadid. So, What Exactly Is It?

Bella Hadid got candid in a recent interview with VOGUE about her experience with facial tweakments - yes, including the fact that she'd gotten a nose job (rhinoplasty) when she was 14. During the interview, there was one thing she said she'd never get: fillers. For years, Bella has long been subject to dissection of her features. Jaw Filler? 'Fox' eyes? Botox? She's been associated with them all.

'People think I fully f*cked with my face because of one picture of me as a teenager looking puffy. I’m pretty sure you don’t look the same now as you did at 13, right? I have never used filler. Let’s just put an end to that.

I have no issue with it, but it’s not for me,' said Bella. There's one tool that's achieving making her skin particularly taut. 'Face tape!', says Hadid. 'The oldest trick in the book.'

Face tape may well be common knowledge for supermodels, but most of us are none the wiser. So, what is face tape - and how does it mimic the effects of botox?

What is face tape, and how does it work?

It's exactly that: (often) transparent small patches of tape, used to hoist the skin upward for a tauter finish. Pulling the skin upward and holding it in place can help to define bone structure - think a more chiseled jaw and cheekbones (you can understand why one might assume Bella had her jaw, often razor sharp, shaved).
